It's so easy to edit online, I did it from day one. Yes I uploaded a gedcom from my home program, or you can add them as you go.
If you are using the "classic look"3D tree, on the lefthand side of your page will be 2 tabs "LIST" or "PERSON". Click on person, it has a "edit details" tab there under the photo. You put in the dates of birth, death, marriage. Then when you are finished with that one, there will be detail under the photo of those you just put in. To put in places, (would've been handy to do this at same time) you click a box next to the one you want to edit and "edit" comes up, click that and a box will open up to put in places.
On the new one, still same princable, but add a relation to a person you click on the cross under the box.
Easier to add parents as you already have the boxes above that person that says "Add Father or Mother" or "Add sibling"
I'm thinking maybe your problems are that your signing on as a guest not a webmaster, you may have to go back to your emails from Heritage to have a look at your passwords.
Hope this helps everyone, only takes 2 minutes to show you, harder to write it down.
I have a site on my tree that I want to delete but there doesn't seem to be an option to do this. I have read that you must contact the support team - but after THREE ATTEMPTS at contacting them and no response, I have given up on that, so now asking here if anyone can help, PLEASE!!!
The site is not someone else's tree - somehow it is mine, but there is no tree on it and I no information. I renamed it DELETED, just so I wouldn't keep going to it, but I want it gone please!!
If you want to delete your family site, please send me (esther@myheritage.com), the link to the website (go into your family website through MyHeritage (log in), and then copy the whole website in your address browser, and paste it directly into an email for me), and I will take care of it.
By default, a member of a tree can make changes on the tree.
If you go into MyFamily > Settings > Privacy and into the Address Book tab, you will have the option "Can site members post content on the site". If you choose "no", then the members of your site will not be able edit your family tree.
Choosing a mixed privacy site allows you to let guests enter your site, but they do not see private sensitive information about living people in your tree. Members can still see everything on your site and tree. This is a good option if you are looking to further your genealogical research- people can visit your site, and contact you if they find a connection to yout tree.
Is there a quick and simple way to join another members family page without having to wait days to receive the request membership e-mail? I have SmartMatches with another member and we both wish to join the others site, but cannot...
