Puthiyaveettil family traces its origin from Kumaranellore , Ponnani,Kerala, INDIA as Karumathil House. Karumathil house is said to have been originated from PANNIYUR, Anakkara. Kerala, and is known as Panniyur Karumathil House. This house is still at Panniyur. Later on Karumathil house split into different branches like Karumathil Pullara, Karumathil Pokkavil, Karumathil Nellekkattu, Etc. History reveals that Smt.AMMU AMMA (daughter of Smt. KARUMATHIL KUNJU AMMA and Chembilveetil Sri. CHATTU MENON) was married to Sri. KATTAYATTU GOVINDA MENON, the then Prime Minister of the Zamorins. Kattayattu Sri. Govinda Menon brought Smt AMMU AMMA to Calicut and started the branch as KARUMATHIL PUTHIYAVEEDU, at PANNIANKARA. KOZHIKODE (CALICUT). Smt Ammu Amma is believed to have come from Nellekkattu branch of Karumathil house. Nellekattu Karumathil House is situated in Kumaranellore. The nellekkattu house is still at Kumaranellur)
Karumathil Puthiyaveettil, which later spread all over North Malabar. An aristrocratic Nair family with multiple marriage connections with the Royal Families of the earstwhile Valluvanad area of which the famous ruler of Calicut, the ZAMORIN is note worthy for its prominence.A family which has produced numerous erudite & note worthy professionals & scholars in all walks of life , influencing the happenings on the Indian subcontinent, from the 19th century onwards. We have taken care to compile this data covering 6 generations with as much accuracy possible with the available data, the credit for which goes to Puthiyaveettil Vinod Menon & Puthiyaveettil Premi Mohan. You will be glad to know that the members of Karumathil Puthiyaveedu family are getting together once again. After the successful first get-together at Palakkad last year, we are sure you must be looking forward to this event. Those of you who had missed that event would be particularly happy that it is being held again. The venue this time is Padmalayam, Panniyankara, Calicut and the date is 28th December 2008.
The get-together will commence at 10 am and will go on till dinner at 8.30 pm. There will be plenty of time for interactions and a variety of entertainment and merriment.

ICICI ATM / Debit cards can be used at SBI ATMs to withdraw money and most shocking thing is, it doesnot ask for your PIN**. Even if it asks for pin and if u cancel it, it goes on to the next screen and enables you to withdraw cash. This security vulnerability was shown live on India TV newschannel at SBI ATM in Hyderabad . So please take utmost care of your ICICI ATM / Debit cards to avoid any such misuse. The first family at Palghat on 30th Dec 2007 was a grand success for a beginning. About 124 members attended the same. K.P. Unnikrishan as the seniormost male member presided over the proceedings of the function.It was decided then that the next meet would be held at Calicut , Padmalayam on 28th & 29th December 2008 and Dr.K.P.Govindan will be co-ordinating with the assistance of P.Raghu Menon.The credit of organising the Palghat meet goes to P.Vinod Menon.
I request the members who participated for this meet to reflect their impression & feelings on the event , for the benifit of others , which could motivate more participation in the next meet.
I have sponsored this site for two years, thereby enhancing the number of members permitted from 15 to 100.
