i did find a duncan currie in the 1700's looking up my gr.gr.grandfather henry currie not knowing i would be trying to find him again though your family. so i will give it a whirl again. maybe working from that end forward i may uncover something.
You'll find them in my HAY, BARR, and CURRIE, lines
Now, Duncan Currie and Catherine Marshall married in 1831, had their first child Donald in 1835 and then a son Duncan in 1838. He's the one that married Douglas in Apr 1861 and 3 months later they had a son Duncan, Jul 1861. They named the second child Douglas (female).
Can get confusing for sure! The Oldest Duncan Currie on my tree I have no dates for. When his wife Catherine died in 1860 she was already a widow. Her age was about 78 as far as I can tell from the scribble on her death certificate, which would mean she was born about 1782. Her husband was probably a few years older.
