Can any one help me or advise me where i can obtain information concerning my G/G/G dad James King who was Born in DUBLIN 1809, enlisted at the age of 13 with the ROYAL STAFF CORPS 1821, then served with the 5th Dragoon Guards 1829-1850 when he was Medically/Discharged in LONGFORD, with an injury to his fingers, he went on to Compose 40 Military pieces from 1849-60, he then resided in DERBY till his death in 1888, having been know as PROFESSOR J.King teaching MUSIC, i would be most grateful for any advise of guidance

It was rumoured he was at the Battle of Waterloo with his father aged 6!!!!!!!!! who was a TRUMPET/MAJOR, i have not been able to clarify this story????? Bert Wilton-King
