I am looking for Thomas Ringrose TAGG who is said to have died in Chattanooga TN in Nov 4, 1864. That's all the family story seems to know. He had a family of 11 in Portland, Dodge Co, Wisconsin and was in TN for unknown reason. He was not in the Army, would have been 50 years old. May have been an itinerant preacher.
I'm searching for my GG Parents, Thomas Ringrose TAGG/Mary Coultas TAGG. They came from Long Sutton(he) and Grantham(she) Lincolnshire to Charleston(?) SC about 1842, left for Portland, Dodge County, Wisconsin before 1850. They had 2 children in SC, a boy, name might be John, James or Edwin in 1842(?) and a girl, Emma, in 1848. They missed the 1840 and 1850 censuses, and except for the 2 children, I'd think it was just a family story,. which also says they had a store and were flooded out, then moved to Wisconsin.
I would greatly appreciate any, even a slight, bit of information about them.
