I am new at this and could use some assistance in confirming the parentage of my gg-grandparents Joseph Lafayette Smitherman b. 21 Oct 1867, d. 11 Jul 1945, Bibb Co. AL and "Della" Smitherman b. 10 Mar 1864, d. 16 Jan 1915, Bibb Co. AL. Both are buried at Rehobeth Cemetery in Bibb Co. They had seven or more children: Lizze, Clifton, Arthur, Ollie, Vittie, Ethel, Lodema (died at age two) and posibably Julian and Ruban.
If I am correct, Joseph Lafayette Smitherman is the son of Thomas Smitherman b.1830 who married on 2 May 1853, in Bibb Co, AL, Juliann Smitherman b. 1834, NC.
Gabrella "Della" Smitherman is the daughter of John Smitherman b. 1840 who married on 17 May 1866, inBibb Co, AL Paralee Latham b. 1843/47 Bibb Co, AL
